Emma's 1 Year Birthday Party

Emma had a wonderful ladybug birthday party with all her close friends and family! Thanks to all who made this day special for us!

Manatees!

Kristin Jo is in love... with Manatees! Here we are at Homosassa Springs Park, where the endangered Manatees are nursed back to health after sustaining various injuries. They move so slow, they collect algae on their backs. Their faces are much cuter!

Family Trip to Florida; March 24th to 28th

Breakfast on the first day, saying "hello" for the camera. One of her first times sitting in a restaurant high-chair. Notice we placed sweet Emma in the corner to try to minimize the mess and distractions to other guests. It was nice to have a selection from the buffet to help enhance her soft foods palate, but we felt bad for the mess we made (+50% of her food ended up on the carpeted floor). Woops, sorry!

Emma loved swimming, although she wasn't a fan of the sunblock applications and having to wear the "cute" hat. This ledge was great for her to sit and observe, while jumping in for a swim when ready.
Emma (and momma) enjoyed a nice nap after an exhausting swim. How cuddle-cozy and serene!

Florida Emma!

Emma relaxing w/parents on the beach (with plenty of protection from the sun and new cute swimwear) of the Tradewinds Island Resort on St. Pete Beach (near Tampa Bay). This was a great family-friendly resort reccomended by our friends Robert, Tori, and Nicholas. Emma's beach outing was short-lived, however, as she preferred the pool and became hungry. So, we retreated to the hotel room for takeout and a bottle of formula!

Easter

Emma now loves to wave and say "hey" (hello) at friends, family, and strangers alike. She also loved to grab things (eyeglasses, sunglasses, daddy's ears) to play with. Here we are at the Easter service at First United Methodist in her cute pink dress, where she did well for the first half. She became fussy and it turns out she had the begining of a fever on the day before our scheduled trip to Florida! We went to Urgent Care, where doctor's orders were to give Tylenol, Motrin, and go to Florida for some needed rest! Hallelulia, this family needs a resurection!

Meeting Uncle Paul A

Emma is intrigued to meet her world-traveling uncle he has heard so much about! We were grateful that Paul and Pete made the trip from New York and Vermont on March 9th; it was a good time!

Baptism and Godparents

Emma with her newly-appointed Godparents (Mike and Jamie Mayo) and God-brother. She obviously loves them b/c she can't pull her eyes away to look at the camera. That Nathan Mayo is so cool!
Reverends Doug Patterson and Grandpa Dave Rahn perform the ceremony while daddy tries to sit keep Emma still. I think she loved having the audience!

What a beautiful baptismal gown Jamie graciously made for Emma; she's so talented!
